It’s 7:00am

It’s 7:00am. I’m fucking tired and I’m really fucking pissed with Blogger and their inane way of including archives. I’m on my fourth revision of a design for a blog I’m doing for my friend Jeremy and it was going really well - I’m liking the design and it’s taken only 3 hrs to go from photoshop concept to fully functional popups, rollovers etc.

Then is takes me another 3 hrs to work out archiving and commenting on Blogger and YACCs. Turns out Blogger’s “archive” include is just including javascript which means, my archive template needs to actually BE javascript instead of HTML. Thanks for telling me.

Props to Tom Chi for being around to keep me sane and coming up with a new color scheme. His blog is cooler, go look at it.

The blog I was working on is now on-line and it’s better looking than mine. It belongs to Jeremy who’s studying in the UK. Naturally, you should expect a redesign for my:dentity coming soon.

Random activities I’ve been engaged in:

  • TV - Smallville, Friends, Whose Line Is It, occassional SG-1, checking out Firefly and I won’t admit to having Dawson’s on Tivo
  • Books - friend lent me “No Exit” and other plays by Jean Paul Sartre, also just read the Ultimates, which is a retelling of the Avengers (yes, it’s a comic book but it’s incredible, these guys have some serious emotional and psychological issues).
  • Movies - One Hour Photo wasn’t bad. An interesting study on why people take pictures and what it doesn’t show. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever is rated lower than Battlefield: Earth. Trust them to actually set a movie in Vancouver and have it be this shitty. It was so cool to see the Vancouver Library shot up though. My Big Fat Greek Wedding is really light-hearted and sweet but not so much that you get sick. Even the cynics will probably like it (well … I did). Interested in seeing Red Dragon because I’m a Norton and Hopkins fan and of course, Spirited Away is making it’s way through theaters and hasn’t gotten a bad review yet. The Ring also looks promising although I haven’t seen the original Japanese version.
  • Austin Film Festival starts soon.
