N-Gage @ E3

I mentioned the Nokia N-Gage a few months ago. Basically, it’s a new phone coming out from Nokia that is part cell phone, part portable video game platform, part web browser and part mp3 player. They boast a slew of developers and games including Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider and Tony Hawk. Penny Arcade went to E3 and had a look at it and didn’t have a lot of nice things to say about it. Most of the points were regarding the feel and usability more than the actual technology.

We can all conclude that Nokia needs to hire me.

We can also conclude that I have no shame.

I saw one of their other products that boasted the same “landscape orientation” form, but with thumbpads. It was apparently labelled “top secret” and could not be shipped anywhere — it had to be hand-delivered by someone, and on their person at all times.

Those guys need you, Kev. They NEED you, and they don’t even know it yet.

I was @ E3 and saw the N-Gage thing and yeah – it pretty much sucked. Their whole booth area was deserted. Felt sort of bad for them.
