Taxes

True to procrasination form, I’ve just completed my taxes. For the first time in three years, I don’t owe money and I’m actually getting a refund. I’ve forgotten how it feels to get my own money back.

Three years later, TurboTax for the Web is still the most polished web app I’ve used.

Yeah – same as QuickTaxWeb (both from Intuit, I believe). Especially the whole “send you relentless email about stuff you don’t care about (‘QuickWill – be sure you’re stuff goes to the ones you love so you can hurry up and die already’) and refused to accept when you signed up and can’t get them to stop sending despite your threats of bodily harm” functionality they have. I love that feature.

Gah! I can’t believe I spelled “your” as “you’re” in that comment. What am I, twelve and illiterate? Grrrrr.

… or American? [duck and run]

I had my taxes done at the end of February, and had them sitting around for a final review, which I did yesterday. Heck, I’m owing some money anyway, so no rush as long as I meet the April 15 deadline.

Amazingly, the post office isn’t crowded with long queues this year. Perhaps it’s an indication of taxpayers finally adopting tax software en masse? I was going to e-file it, but I owe money and I don’t care if it takes them forever to figure that out — they should have to work for it. Hahahaha …
