I was really confused when there was all this buzz about this movie because I had watched a not so old movie by the same title which I thought was good if bizarre (it’s a David Cronenberg afterall). The new one is unrelated and rings like Magnolia in mood and storytelling. The acting isn’t as good as Magnolia nor are the characters. That’s not to say the acting wasn’t good. I liked the movie but I wouldn’t rave about it the way people have. The main point of interest is the focus on racial issues. Don Cheadle was under utilized. [imdb link].
