Mission Impossible 3
A great movie is often defined by a great villain. Jack Nicholson in the first Batman, for example, made the film. So when I saw Phillip Seymour-Hoffman casted as the villain for MI:3, my low expectations became a fair bit higher and he lived up to them. He’s cold-blooded, calculating, and downright evil. The movie had big explosions, heists, and a bad ass villain so I’m not really complaining. The only thing is that I find MI movies to be anti-climactic. You get these great missions with elaborate schemes which make the movie but then it ends on more of a regular action flick. Contrast this with Ocean’s 11, where the climax is the biggest heist of all. Still, it’s a good time and hey, I got to see it for free.
