It really is a return. There’s so much homage to the old school Superman that there feels like not enough fresh perspective. Brandon Routh makes a great Christopher Reeves err I mean Superman/Clark Kent. I know this is Superman but there’s enough inconsistencies that I can’t hold my suspension of disbelief and Kevin Spacey’s Lex Luthor, while good, pales compared to the subtler Lex in Smallville.
