Tales of travel and misadventure
To do just about anything in the UK, you need an address and a bank account. To get a bank account, you need an address so we got that out of the way last month. After we settled in, my roommate Jens (pronounced “Yens”) and I went to the Barclay’s Bank in Hatton Cross to [...]
I’m back from Paros and Athens, Greece. Tomorrow, I head to Toronto for a wedding (HnG = Hi and Goodbye). The short version of my Greece trip: Wake up, have yoghurt, fruits and honey with a frappe (Greek breakfast), check out a beach, fall asleep, get in the water, play frisbee, sleep some more, shower, [...]
Tomorrow, I am bound for a week on the beaches of Paros, an island in Greece followed by a couple of days in Athens. The weather here in London has actually been pretty great this weekend if a bit humid. We got all our papers signed for the apartment and moved everything in today (except [...]
… I need a KitKat. That’s right, one more has joined the cult of blogging! But more importantly, Kat will join me in London in less than a week, just before we head out to the Greek Islands with Jer and some random strangers (to me at least). Too bad I lost my Dimage-X in [...]

The short version is that it was a nightmare that required all of my roadwarrior guile to get me back to Austin at the scheduled time. [...]
I’ve managed to get my passport and am now in London. Heathrow to be more accurate. I flew on British Airways Club World (provided kindly by BA as we’re consulting with them). See for yourself. I don’t think I really need to add anything.
South Padre Island was excellent. The beaches there are still beautiful. At night, we managed to watch the moon rise which was a first for me. Everyone else seemed to see some cosmic phenomenon or another but I missed out =( We did see a stray tent wandering across the beach though. Also Jeni, Jonathan [...]

Well I’m now travelling for work. Signed up for the American Airlines Platinum Challenge and all. Looks like I’m a full blown consultant. Let me just say, flying into west coast first thing in the morning is tough. Cuz I start my day at 6am and end at around 1 or 2 am CST. Oh [...]
